The Palestinian Health Ministry said the situation at the Nasser Hospital, the Al-Amal Hospital, and the various medical centers in Khan Younis is very dire due to the large numbers of deaths and injuries, in addition to the patients, and the sharp shortage of medical supplies.
The Heath Ministry warned that Nasser Hospital and the Al-Amal Hospital of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) are even running out of food, which is already severely rationed, an issue that poses serious risks to the patients and the families sheltering there.
The PRCS also confirmed the deaths of a 72-year-old woman and a 45-day-old baby, resulting from the lack of oxygen at Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis which remains besieged by the army for the last five days.
It called on the Red Cross, various United Nations organizations and human rights groups to intervene and ensure the delivery of all needed supplies, and to act on protecting all medical facilities.
The PRCS said the Israeli army invaded the yard of Al-Amal Hospital which it runs in Khan Younis, and deployed its tanks near the main gate of the Emergency department while firing bursts of live rounds.
It also said that the soldiers killed seven Palestinians, including a PRCS employee, and injured thirteen, near the southern gate of the Al-Amal Hospital, and added that its slain employee remained on the ground as no one could reach them due to the army fire.
The Health Ministry said Israel has now killed more than 26.900 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured at least 66.000, in addition to at least 8.000 Palestinians who remain missing, largely killed on the streets and buried under the rubble of bombarded homes, since October 7, 2023.
