On Friday throughout the day and night, Israeli bombardment continued in the already decimated Gaza Strip, killing Palestinian families and children, as the Israeli bombs have done every single day since October 7, 2023. The people of Gaza are exhausted and most have been forcibly displaced multiple times over the past seven months. Since Tuesday, the Israelis have completely sealed the Rafah border crossing, preventing even the small trickle of aid that had been entering to help the people of Gaza.

Dozens of Palestinian civilians, including a journalist, his wife and son, were killed as a result of the Israeli occupation forces’ targeting of several areas in the Gaza Strip.

Local sources confirmed the death of journalist Bahaa Okasha, his wife and son in an Israeli shelling that targeted their home in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.

Additionally, a number of Palestinians were killed and wounded in an Israeli shelling of the Siam family home in the Old City of Gaza in central Gaza City.

The sources also indicated that at least 10 civilians were killed and others, including children, were injured after an Israeli shelling of a house belonging to the Al-Khatib family in the town of Al-Zawaida in the central Gaza Strip.

She pointed out that an Israeli raid targeted the north of the Nuseirat camp and another targeted the town of Zawaida in the central Gaza Strip.

The center and east of the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip were also subjected to intense Israeli artillery shelling, while Israeli warplanes launched a raid on Al-Geneina neighborhood, east of Rafah.

Day 217: Israeli Forces Continue Bombing Civilians in Gaza, Including in Rafah

On Friday morning before dawn, day 217 of the Israeli aggression against the people of Gaza. A number of Palestinians were killed and others were injured, at dawn on Friday, in the shelling by the Israeli occupation that targeted several areas in Gaza City. The Israeli army announced on Friday that it had bombed about 40 targets in the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours.

A correspondent with the Wafa news agency reported that ambulance and rescue crews managed to recover three Palestinians who had been killed, and five who were wounded as a result of an Israeli missile strike targeting a house belonging to the Abdel Aal family on Yarmouk Street in the center of Gaza City, and they were transferred to the city’s Baptist Hospital.

The reporter added that six civilians were injured in an Israeli bombardment that targeted a house belonging to the Al-Dada family on Al-Manfa Street in Gaza City, noting that Israeli warplanes launched raids on homes in the neighborhoods of Al-Zaytoun, Al-Sabra, Al-Nasr, Tal Al-Hawa, and Al-Shati camp in the city.

A number of civilians were killed and injured as a result of the occupation shelling of a warehouse, shops and agricultural land near the junction of Al-Da’wa Street in Al-Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

One of those killed was released detainee Ahmed Ghoneim and 3 members of his family, including children, as a result of the occupation shelling of their house in Jabalya camp.

Israeli warplanes also raided several areas east of Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip and north of the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. According to Al Jazeera, fierce clashes continued between the Palestinian resistance and the occupation army in the eastern neighborhoods of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, while the Israeli occupation forces shelled several areas in the Gaza Strip, especially the neighborhoods of Al-Zaytoun and Al-Sabra southeast of Gaza City, in addition to blowing up buildings and entire residential blocks.

Israeli helicopters and vehicles also fired in the direction of central and eastern Rafah, in conjunction with artillery shelling.

The Israeli occupation has continued its aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since the seventh of last October, resulting in the death of 34,904 citizens, the majority of whom were children and women, and the injury of 78,514 others, in an indefinite toll, as thousands of victims are still under the rubble.
