May 11, 2024 at 11:14

On Saturday, Day 218 of the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip, Israeli missiles and shells killed dozens of Palestinians and injured hundreds in several parts of the destroyed, starved, and besieged coastal enclave.

In Jabalia town, in northern Gaza, the army fired missiles at dozens of homes, killing at least seven Palestinians and wounding dozens, in addition to many who remain buried under the rubble.

The army also fired shells at Sikka Street and the eastern area of the town, causing casualties.

Also, the army fired missiles at homes and buildings in Beit Lahia City, in northern Gaza, striking a home for the Al-Masri family near Beit Lahia Cemetery, and a home for the Al-Qabat family, near Beit Lahia Club.

The army fired a missile at the home of a Palestinian journalist, Baha’ Okasha, in Jabalia refugee camp, in northern Gaza, killing him along with his wife and their son.

The Kamal Adwan Hospital in Northern Gaza said its services are going to end as it is running out of fuel for its power generators, Al-Jazeera said.

In Gaza City, the army fired missiles at homes, killing and wounding many Palestinians, especially in a bombarded home for the Siyam family in Gaza’s Old City, in the center of Gaza City.

Also in Gaza City, casualties were reported when the army fired dozens of shells at homes and buildings in the Zeitoun neighborhood, in the southeastern part of the city.

At least two Palestinians were killed and many injured, when the army fired a missile at a home near the Salihin Mosque, in the Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.

It is worth mentioning that the Zeitoun neighborhood has been under extensive Israeli bombings for the last three days.

In Zawaida, in central Gaza, the army fired a missile at a home for the Khatib family in the town, killing at least ten and wounding dozens, including many children and women.

The army also fired missiles at homes in the northern areas of the Nusseirat refugee camp, causing many casualties.

In addition, the army fired barrages of missiles and shells at homes and buildings, especially in the Al-Jneina neighborhood in Rafah, in Gaza’s southmost area, causing casualties.

The army also fired many missiles at homes and buildings in the Salam neighborhood, in Rafah, and near the destroyed Rafah Border Terminal.

In addition, the army fired many artillery shells at homes and areas in the center of Rafah city and its western areas where hundreds of families tried to shelter in tents.

The Israeli army demanded the Palestinians in Jabalia and Jabalia refugee camp, the Salam and the Nour neighborhoods, Tal Az-Za’tar, Beit Lahia Project, Ezbet Emlayyin, Ar-Rawda, An-Nahda, and Zohour, to leave and head to areas west of Gaza City, as it intends to intensify the bombing of the mentioned areas.

The army also demanded the Palestinians to leave Rafah and to stay away from all eastern areas, especially the Border Terminal and the perimeter fence.

the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) said it is estimated that about 150.000 Palestinian have, so far, fled Rafah, while the Israeli army continued to demand more evacuations.

After destroying and occupying it, on May 7, the Israeli army closed the Rafah Border Termina, with Egypt, and kept it closed since, preventing the entry of essential aid, and denying patients and wounded Palestinians transfer to hospitals in Egypt and elsewhere.

The army also kept the closure of the Karem Abu Salem crossing, preventing the entry of food, medical and humanitarian supplies, for the ninth day.

A few days ago, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres called for the immediate reopening of the crossings and called for allowing the entry of urgently needed medical and humanitarian supplies.

Israel has now killed at least 34.943 Palestinians, including more than 14,500 children and 9,500 women, and injured more than 78.572, mostly women and children, in addition to the thousands (at least 8000) of Palestinians who remain under the rubble, across the destroyed Gaza Strip, since October 7, 2023.
