On Saturday, Day 267 of the ongoing genocide of the Palestinians in the destroyed, starved, and besieged Gaza Strip, the Israeli army expanded the invasion and bombing of various parts of Rafah, in the southmost part, killing and injuring dozens in Rafah and across the coastal enclave.
Medical sources said the army killed and injured dozens of Palestinians, including many women and children, in several parts of the Gaza Strip.
The sources said that at least two Palestinians were killed, and many were injured when the army fired artillery shells at tents for displaced Palestinians and agricultural hothouses in the Al-Mawasi area, northwest of Rafah.
Palestinian rescue teams also found the corpses of five slain Palestinians under the rubble of homes in the Shakoush area, west of Rafah, after Israeli tanks withdrew from the area.
The army also fired dozens of live rounds at homes, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, inflicting many casualties.
In central Gaza, at least one Palestinian was killed, and dozens were injured when the army fired a missile at a home in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp, while more casualties were reported when the army fired shells at areas in the northern and the western areas of the Nusseirat refugee camp.
In Gaza City, Israeli war jets conducted at least two air strikes at Tal Al-Hawa and Sheikh Ejleen, southwest of the city, while military quadcopters and armored vehicles fired dozens of live rounds at homes near the Sham’a mosque in the Zeitoun neighborhood, and in the Sheja’eyya neighborhood, causing many injuries.
Also, the army fired missiles at two homes for the Abu Kamil family in the Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City, and the Qweider family in the Sabra neighborhood in the center of the city, killing at least eight, including women and children, and wounding many Palestinians.
In addition, the army fired a missile at a car in the Sabra neighborhood in Gaza city, killing and wounding many Palestinians.
At least one Palestinian was killed and many were injured when the army fired a missile at displaced families in the City Park in the center of Gaza City, while the army also fired missiles and shells at the Sa’ada Towers in Tal Hawa.
On Friday, the Palestinian Civil Defense said the medics were unable to reach slain and wounded Palestinians in destroyed homes and streets in the Sheja’eyya neighborhood, especially since the army continued its ground invasion of the eastern area of the city.
Mahmoud Basal, the spokesperson of the Civil Defense, said the Israeli army is targeting dozens of homes in the Sheja’eyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, killing and wounding scores of Palestinians, while the medics and rescue teams have been unable to reach them as the army continued to bomb the area from the land and the air.
Basal added that many families remain stranded in their homes and are unable to leave due to the ongoing Israeli bombing.
“The situation is disastrous as the army continues the invasions and the bombings of homes and infrastructure in the eastern area of Gaza City; the army is targeting civilians at the outskirts of the Sheja’eyya neighborhood,” he stated, “Dozens of thousands of Palestinians left Sheja’eyya and remain unable to find any place to shelter, eat or even drink water; all roads have been destroyed, there is also no place for them in the already overcrowded schools and UN center that is housing displaced families.”
Basal also said that there is a serious lack of food and necessities due to the ongoing bombing and the fact that Israel continued to prevent aid trucks from entering Gaza.
It is worth mentioning that the ongoing Israeli bombing has displaced more than %95 of the population in the Gaza Strip, who are now facing dire conditions, lacking access to food, water, and medical supplies.
Israel has now killed at least 37.765 Palestinians and injured more than 86.429, mostly women, children, and elderly, in addition to the thousands of missing Palestinians, largely under the rubble, in several parts of the destroyed Gaza Strip, since October 7, 2023.
