On Thursday, Day 363 of the ongoing Israeli genocide of the Palestinians in the devastated, starved and destroyed coastal enclave, Israeli missiles and shells killed and injured dozens of Palestinians across the coastal enclave.

Medical sources said five Palestinians were killed and many were injured, including children, when the army bombarded a home belonging to the Darwish family in the Shati’ refugee camp, west of Gaza City.

The sources added that two Palestinians, including one child, were killed and many were injured, when the army fired a missile at a Palestinian home belonging to Abu Khousa family, west of the Nuseirat refugee camp, in central Gaza.

Furthermore, many Palestinians were injured due to the artillery shelling by the army of a school sheltering displaced families east of Al-Maghazi in central Gaza Strip.

In Deir Al-Balah, in central Gaza, the army fired a missile at a home, killing a former political prisoner, Abdul-Aziz Salha; it is worth mentioning that Salha was from the West Bank, and was exiled to Gaza as part of the “Shalit Prisoner Swap Agreement.” Israel claims the Salha killing two soldiers in Ramallah in the year 2000.

Also, the army fired missiles and artillery shells at the neighborhoods of Sabra, Zeitoun and Tal Al-Hawa in Gaza City, causing casualties.

One Palestinian was killed, and several others injured when the army fired a missile near a bakery in Tal Al-Hawa.

In Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, the withdrew from the Al-Manara neighborhood after seven days of constant shelling and bombings, causing serious destruction of dozens of homes and buildings.

It is worth mentioning that, over the last 24 hours, Israeli soldiers killed 51 Palestinians and injured dozens, including many children and women.

In addition, the army renewed its bombing and shelling of various parts of Rafah, in the Gaza Strip’s southmost part.

The Palestinian Health Ministry stated that the army committed five massacres of families in the Gaza Strip, killing 51 Palestinians and wounding 165, including many children and women in the last 24 hours.

According to data from the Health Ministry, as of October 2nd, the number of slain has reached 41,689, including more than 11,355 children, 6,297 women, and 2,955 elderly people.

The number of missing persons is around 10,000, and approximately 96,625 citizens, many of whom are children and women, have been injured; thousands of injured Palestinians suffer from severe trauma and life-threatening conditions.

The Ministry of Health indicated that 15 out of 36 hospitals in Gaza are operational, all of which are partially functioning and facing severe shortages. The Israeli occupation army has destroyed and burned 32 hospitals in the Gaza Strip, rendering them out of service.

The ministry explained that around 986 healthcare workers have been killed, 310 have been abducted by the occupation army, and hundreds have been injured.

The Israeli forces have destroyed 130 ambulances; the deliberate targeting of medical infrastructure has deprived civilians of access to basic healthcare services, with more than 340 attacks on healthcare facilities and workers.

The ministry indicated that Gaza is facing a health disaster due to the lack of safe water resources, overcrowding, and the shortage of basic hygiene needs.

The flooding of sewage water and the accumulation of waste in the streets and around shelters for displaced persons pose significant public health risks. The fuel shortage exacerbates the situation, hindering the operation of essential services.

Regarding the reconstruction of the health sector in the event of the cessation of the genocidal war, Minister of Health Majed Abu Ramadan said that the ministry has developed a plan based on three phases.

The first phase involves emergency relief from the first day of the war, through the health ministry staff who have been working in the Gaza Strip and have not left it since 1994, in addition to delivering medicines, medical supplies, consumables, vaccines, and laboratory materials to the coastal enclave.

The second phase involves coordinating the entry of medical missions from foreign passport holders to facilitate their entry and exit from the coastal region, especially since the occupation prevents tens of thousands of patients and injured persons from leaving the Gaza to receive treatment abroad.

The third phase involves providing field hospitals due to the fact that Israel targeted and destroyed hospitals and health centers.

The Health Minister explained that even field hospitals were targeted by the occupation army and had to cease operations and relocate.

The ministry stated that once the genocidal war ends, it will provide mobile clinics to deliver various services such as vaccinations, maternal and childcare, and treatment for chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and heart conditions, cancer, as well as treatment services for the injured.

Health teams will also work on rehabilitating health centers, assessing the situation on the ground, building new hospitals, and rehabilitating existing hospitals, if possible, to respond to citizens’ health needs as efficiently as possible.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated that “amid forced displacement, difficult conditions, and extreme heat, families in Gaza are exhausted, hungry, and lack the necessities for survival.”

UNRWA Communications Officer Louise Wateridge confirmed in a press statement that “there are many desperate, hungry, and tired people” due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) confirmed that the issuance of mass evacuation orders in Gaza without ensuring safe places for the displaced exacerbates the already dire humanitarian situation for hundreds of thousands of people.

The “Integrated Food Security Phase Classification” report stated that the entire Gaza Strip is classified as being in an emergency state, which is the fourth phase of the classification that precedes famine (the fifth phase).

The report indicated that more than 495,000 people (22% of the population) are facing catastrophic levels of acute food insecurity, where families experience severe food shortages, starvation, and exhaustion of coping capacities.

As a result of these conditions, which have led to malnutrition, dehydration, and a lack of medical supplies, more than 36 children have died, and dozens of children continue to suffer from malnutrition and famine, especially in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
