Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip is witnessing successive air raids by the occupation’s warplanes, which are blowing up residential blocks in the Al-Khulafa area, in conjunction with the continuation of artillery shelling and gunfire.
Medical sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces are preventing the entry of any medical delegations or supplies to the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia town, north of the Gaza Strip. This comes after weeks of siege and bombardment of the hospital by Israeli forces — including the bombing of the Intensive Care Unit on Wednesday December 18th.
The sources indicated that the hospital is suffering from a shortage of water, oxygen and electricity, and the occupation continues to drop bombs on the hospital, as explosions can be heard in its courtyards and at the gates. Since last night, many explosions have occurred and nearby buildings have been destroyed, with shrapnel flying towards the hospital.
The hospital is in dire need of repairs related to water and oxygen supplies, but the Israeli occupation is still preventing the entry of any necessary resources to support the health system.
The hospital lacks the necessary specializations to treat most of the injuries, which reached 85, including 10 cases that require urgent surgical interventions.
The hospital’s intensive care unit, which was severely damaged by a fire that broke out two days ago due to direct shelling, has undergone some repairs. However, there is still a problem with the electrical network, and additional supplies are needed to restore the department, as it is the only one that provides intensive care services for children and adults in northern Gaza .
Medical sources called on the international community to open a humanitarian corridor and allow the entry of medical supplies, equipment and first aid, and to provide international protection for the health system in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, for the 440th consecutive day, which resulted in the killing of 45,097 citizens, the majority of whom are women and children, and the injury of 107,244 others, as thousands of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, and the ambulance and rescue teams are unable to reach them .
