On Saturday, day 722 of Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, the massive assault on Gaza City and forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of residents continued unabated, despite the Israeli government’s isolation at this week’s United Nations General Assembly and pledges by world governments to stop the genocide.

Medical sources announced that 98 citizens have been killed since dawn today, Saturday, by Israeli occupation forces’ fire, in various areas of the Gaza Strip.

According to the sources, 23 bodies were brought to Al-Shifa Hospital, 29 to the Baptist Hospital, 28 to Al-Awda Hospital, 9 to Nasser Hospital, and 9 to Al-Aqsa Hospital.

Medical sources indicated that among those killed were six waiting for humanitarian aid in the central and southern Gaza Strip at the so-called ‘aid’ sites run by the US company ‘GHF’.

Since October 7, 2023, when the Israeli occupation forces launched an aggression against the Gaza Strip following , resulting in the killing of 65,926 citizens, the majority of whom were children and women, and the injury of 167,783 others, in an incomplete toll, as a number of victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and rescue crews are unable to reach them.

Saudi outlet Asharq Al-Awsat reports that Israel has launched airstrikes against prominent families in Gaza City after their elders refused to collaborate with Shin Bet’s plan to establish clan-based governing bodies in place of Hamas.

The Israeli intelligence agency approached elders from the Bakr and Doghmush families, proposing that they form local armed groups to manage aid, administer neighborhoods, fight Hamas, and pass intelligence to Israel. The goal, sources said, was to divide Gaza into “regions” run by clans or armed groups, preventing the emergence of a unified Palestinian government and blocking the foundations of any future Palestinian state.

When both families rejected the offer, Israel launched retaliatory strikes. At least 40 Palestinians were killed between midnight and 10 am on Saturday, with the bombing and shelling continuing non-stop.
