The death of a Palestinian detainee from Gaza was announced, on Monday, one day after another detainee died inside an Israeli hospital.
The General Authority of Civil Affairs, the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) reported on Monday, the death of the elderly detainee Kamel Mohammad Mahmoud Al-Ajrami, 69.
The statement added that Al-Ajrami, a citizen of the Gaza Strip, died on October 10, 2025 in the Israeli Soroka Hospital.
Al-Ajrami, a married father of six, was detained by occupation forces on October 25, 2024 and held in the Negev prison, before being transferred to Soroka Hospital.

This announcement comes one day after the death of the detainee, Mahmoud Talal Tawfiq Abdullah, 49, from the Jenin refugee camp, in an Israeli hospital after more than 8 months of detention inside Israeli occupation prisons.
Since October 7, 2023, the number of identified Palestinian detainees who have died in Israeli prisons has risen to 80, while 317 have died since the beginning of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza in 1967.
The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, and the PPS asserted that the death of the detainee, Al-Ajrami, adds to a series of complex crimes perpetrated by the Israeli regime as a matter of policy, in the context of its ongoing war of extermination against the people of Palestine.
The Commission and the PPS mentioned that the testimonies of hundreds of former detainees confirm the systematic torture carried out by Israeli authorities in occupation prisons.
They called on the international community to hold the occupation accountable for war crimes perpetrated against Palestinian detainees by imposing sanctions and putting an end to its remarkable impunity.
