The European Union said on Tuesday that the current level of violence carried out by illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers in the occupied West Bank is “unacceptable,” urging Israel to take immediate and effective steps to protect Palestinian civilians and prevent further attacks.
In a statement issued by the EU spokesperson, the bloc reported that six Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank since 28 February as a result of colonizer attacks.
The statement noted that multiple Palestinian communities have come under assault, with homes and property damaged, agricultural livelihoods destroyed, and families forcibly displaced after being driven from their homes.

The EU warned that the ongoing pattern of violence, combined with the absence of accountability, risks fueling further instability. “Impunity in such cases may lead to more violence,” the spokesperson said, calling on Israeli authorities to ensure that perpetrators are investigated and held responsible.

The statement also reiterated that Israel, as the occupying power, is obligated under international law to protect the Palestinian population living under its control.
The EU urged the Israeli government to uphold these responsibilities and to take concrete measures to curb colonizer attacks, which have sharply increased over the past year.

Human rights organizations and UN agencies have repeatedly documented a rise in coordinated colonizer assaults on Palestinian towns, villages, and agricultural areas across the occupied West Bank.
These attacks often occur in the presence of Israeli forces, who frequently fail to intervene or, in some cases, are reported to provide cover for colonizer groups.
The EU’s remarks add to growing international concern over the deteriorating security situation in the occupied West Bank, where colonizers’ violence, land seizures, and home demolitions have intensified alongside broader military operations.
The bloc emphasized that preventing further escalation requires immediate action, accountability, and adherence to international legal obligations.
