The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has expressed grave concern over what it describes as the Israeli occupation government’s public boasting about the expansion of its military offensive against Gaza City amidst unjustified international silence and inaction.

The Foreign Ministry stated that this Israeli military escalation and the planned expansion of the onslaught places hundreds of thousands of Palestinian civilians at immediate risk of death, injury, and forced displacement.

In its official statement, the Ministry condemned the offensive as a deliberate intensification of attacks on civilian populations.

It characterized the campaign as a systematic attempt to transform Gaza City into a mass grave and render it—and much of the surrounding territory—uninhabitable.

Nearly one million Palestinians, the Ministry noted, have been forced into a perilous cycle of displacement, navigating evacuation corridors surrounded by destruction and death.

The Ministry called for urgent and exceptional international intervention to halt what it described as a major crime against humanity.

It urged the global community to prioritize political and diplomatic solutions capable of ending the genocide and aggression, protecting civilians, preventing further displacement and ensuring the sustained delivery of humanitarian aid.

These measures, it emphasized, must be implemented within the framework of the New York Declaration.

Meanwhile, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to escalate. In the past 24 hours alone, Israeli airstrikes have claimed the lives of at least 53 Palestinians, with 35 of those killed in Gaza City.

Many of the victims were civilians caught inside residential towers that were directly targeted. The strikes also led to the destruction of 16 buildings, including three multi-story housing complexes, compounding the devastation and displacement.

Over 1.3 million Palestinians have been forcibly displaced, with large numbers still trapped in northern Gaza and Gaza City under siege conditions.

Starvation continues to claim lives as humanitarian aid remains severely restricted. Two additional deaths from hunger were recorded in the last day, bringing the total number of starvation-related fatalities to 422, including 141 children.

The situation reflects a deepening catastrophe, marked by relentless bombardment, mass displacement, and the collapse of basic survival infrastructure.

Since the beginning of the genocide on October 7, 2023, the death toll in Gaza has surpassed 64,800, with more than 19,400 children among the dead. Injuries have exceeded 164,000, and thousands more remain missing beneath rubble or in inaccessible areas.

Over 1.3 million Palestinians have been displaced, many of whom remain trapped in northern Gaza and Gaza City despite repeated evacuation orders.

Starvation-related deaths continue to rise amid severe restrictions on aid. Two additional fatalities were recorded in the past day, bringing the total number of deaths from hunger to 422, including 141 children.

Gaza City is currently classified under IPC Phase 5—the highest level of food insecurity—indicating widespread famine and death. More than 500,000 people are affected by this classification, while over a million others face emergency-level hunger and deprivation.

These figures underscore the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe and reinforce the Ministry’s call for immediate, sustained international action to protect civilians and restore access to essential resources.
