On Friday, March 28, Israeli forces continued their relentless bombardment of civilian tent camps, schools and infrastructure in the Gaza Strip for the tenth straight day since breaking the ceasefire on March 18th. Local sources report an estimated 50 Palestinians killed over the past 24 hours.

On Friday before dawn, at least eight Palestinians were killed, mainly women and children, in an Israeli attack in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighbourhood, adding to 40 others reported killed in strikes across the war-torn territory in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom and France have called for the UN Security Council to convene on Friday to discuss the “humanitarian situation in Gaza and protection of aid workers”.

The United Nations’ World Food Programme has warned that many thousands of Palestinians face severe hunger and malnutrition in Gaza as the UN’s agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) says no aid has entered the enclave in more than three weeks. On Thursday, Israeli forces bombed a charity kitchen serving food.

An Al Jazeera correspondent in the south of the besieged Gaza Strip reported on Friday morning that there is intense Israeli artillery shelling and tank fire west of Rafah and east of Khan Younis.

Israeli fighter jets have also bombed residential buildings in Beit Lahiya in the north.

One was killed and others were injured on Thursday night in Israeli shelling east of Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip.

Children miraculously rescued from under rubble:

Local sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces targeted citizens in the vicinity of the Al-Mashrou’ roundabout, east of Rafah, killing one citizen and wounding others.

In addition, Israeli occupation forces’ vehicles opened heavy fire east of the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Yunis .

The Israeli occupation artillery shelled the vicinity of Mount Surani, east of Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
