In the early hours of Monday, the people of the town of Battir, west of Bethlehem, carried the body of Rami Rashid Al-Batha (35 years old) to his final resting place in the town’s cemetery.
The funeral procession set off in vehicles, from in front of Beit Jala Governmental Hospital, heading towards the Arab Society Hospital in Beit Jala, arriving at the deceased’s father’s house in the Al-Sharafa area, and taking a final farewell and praying over him at the Fatima Al-Zahraa Mosque in the Al-Ain area in the center of the town, then the procession set off again. The body of the deceased was buried in the town cemetery.
Rami Al-Batha was killed yesterday evening near his home in the Al-Sharafa area at the entrance to the town, where the Israeli occupation forces detained his body for a period of time before handing it over to the Red Crescent crews, who transported him to Beit Jala Governmental Hospital.
The Ministry of Health stated that after examining the deceased’s body in Beit Jala Governmental Hospital, it was found that he had been hit by more than 20 bullets throughout his body.
It is noteworthy that the Israeli occupation forced the deceased’s family to hand him over in exchange for burying him within two hours, otherwise he will be detained and not extradited.
