Palestinian Prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons continued for the 27th day their steps of unified disobedience to the rules of the Israeli prison authorities, as a non-violent method of protest to challenge their conditions and the Israeli policies introduced by the right wing extremist Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir.

Also Sunday, prisoner Khader Adnan marked his 36th day of hunger strike, after having been transferred to the Ramle prison clinic on Thursday when his health condition deteriorated.

The Palestinian Prisoner Society said in a statement, that the prisoner Adnan announced his strike from the moment of his arrest on the fifth of February, and throughout this period he was held in the cells of the “Al-Jalama” detention center, and he was subjected to systematic abuse, harsh detention conditions, and he also faced great pressure. by the Israeli occupying forces.

The prisoner Adnan was arrested 12 times, and spent a total of about 8 years in the occupation prisons, most of which were under administrative detention.

Meanwhile, in the movement of prisoner solidarity, the prisoners are taking several steps in the context of intensifying their daily steps, namely: wearing the Shabbas uniform as a continuous message of the prisoners’ readiness for confrontation, holding mobilization sessions during their exit to the prison yards, and sit-ins in the squares after their outdoor time.

The Prisoners’ Authority and the Prisoners’ Club confirmed in a joint statement Saturday that the Supreme Emergency Committee of the Captive Movement, emanating from all factions in the occupation prisons, will continue to implement its struggle program, “Steps of Disobedience,” which has been going on for 26 days, until announcing the initiation of an open strike. On the first day of the Muslim Holy Month of Ramadan, under the title ‘Volcano of Freedom’, the prisoners plan to escalate their strike measures, depending on the response of the prison authorities to their demands.

The authority and the club stated that, until this moment, the prison administration has refused to respond to the prisoners’ demands. These demands include the cessation of all new punitive policies introduced by the right-wing Israeli minister Ben-Gvir.

In addition to the daily displays of solidarity and unity among the prisoners, the prisoners have also acted to obstruct the daily punitive procedures imposed by the prison administration on the prisoners.

It is noteworthy that the prisoners began their protest on the 14th of February, after the Israeli prison administration announced the implementation of the “Ben Gvir” procedures, and the approval of racist bills in the Israeli Knesset (Parliament), most notably the draft law to execute prisoners.
