Rateb Jabour, the coordinator of the Popular and National Committees Against the Wall and Colonies in southern Hebron in the occupied West Bank’s southern part, stated that a group of illegal Israeli colonizers have established a new colonialist outpost on privately owned Palestinian land in the Khallet Naseeruddin area, overlooking the Al-Fahs and Wadi al-Sameen areas.
Jabour explained that the colonizers placed a caravan and installed a large tent, before raising the Israeli flag over it.
He pointed out that this outpost threatens further illegal land seizures in the hills and mountains of southern Hebron.
He urged citizens to consult the Wall and Colonization Resistance Commission and provide their land ownership deeds or seek legal advice to halt the colonial expansion.
Jabour added that more than a year ago, colonizers set up a wooden room in the same area, which was removed through legal means.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
