A six-month-old infant suffered severe tear gas inhalation on Thursday after Israeli forces invaded the village of Tabaqa, located southwest of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank. At least eight other Palestinians were abducted during coordinated invasions across several communities in the Hebron governorate.

Eyewitnesses said Israeli soldiers stormed Tabaqa village, forcefully broke into multiple homes, and fired barrages of toxic tear gas, resulting in the infant’s injury.

They added that Palestinian medics rushed to the home and treated the infant for the severe effects of gas exposure.

In Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, journalist Mohammad Awad reported that the army invaded several neighborhoods, violently smashing doors and ransacking private property. Military dogs were deployed during the searches.

Awad added that soldiers abducted Awni Ahmad Al-Alami (48), his son Ahmad (18), Nour Khaled Ekhlayyil (17), and Ibrahim Mohammad Adi (35), who was assaulted before his vehicle was seized.

In Um al-Kheir, part of Masafer Yatta, activist Osama Makhamra confirmed that Israeli forces invaded and ransacked civilian dwellings, abducting four Palestinians: Omar Suleiman Al-Hathaleen, Wajdi Al-Hathaleen, Alaa Al-Hathaleen, and Omar Al-Hathaleen.

Separately, illegal paramilitary colonizers invaded Khirbet Maghayer Al-Abeed, attempting to steal a flock of sheep belonging to local resident Shahada Makhamra. The colonizers also threatened the family with forced displacement.

It is worth noting that Um al-Kheir and neighboring hamlets across Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, continue to face relentless settler aggression and military invasions.

These attacks recently culminated in the killing of local educator and activist old Awdeh Muhammad Khalil al-Hathalin, 31, after an illegal Israeli colonizer shot him in the village of Umm al-Khair in the Masafer Yatta area.

At dawn on Thursday, Israeli soldiers and illegal paramilitary colonizers invaded the town of Silwad, east of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank’s central part, resulting in the death of a Palestinian man, Khamis Abdul-Latif Ayyad, 45, following a series of violations by the colonizers, who torched homes and cars.
