From Palestine Chronicle: Palestinian journalist Khaled al-Madhoun, who worked for Palestine TV, was killed in a direct Israeli attack while he was covering events in the Zikim area of northern Gaza, a medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza and the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate confirmed.
In a statement on Saturday, the Syndicate said it “mourns with deep sorrow and grief the loss of our colleague, journalist Khaled al-Madhoun.”
The statement added that al-Madhoun was killed “while fulfilling his professional duty of covering events in the Zikim area in the northern Gaza Strip, following a direct attack by Israeli occupation forces.”
The Syndicate stressed that “targeting journalists is a continuous crime committed by the occupation in an effort to obscure the truth and silence the Palestinian voice. But this will not break the determination of Palestinian media professionals who continue their mission despite all dangers.”

According to the Government Media Office in Gaza, before today’s killing of Al-Madhoun, Israel had already killed 238 Palestinian journalists since the start of its genocidal war on October 7, 2023.
Among the most recent were Palestinian journalists Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqea, along with four of their colleagues.
Backed by the United States, Israel has been carrying out genocide in Gaza since October 7, including mass killings, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, while ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to stop the assault.
The war has so far left 62,622 Palestinians dead, 157,673 wounded—most of them women and children—more than 9,000 missing, and hundreds of thousands displaced.
