The Israeli occupation aircraft carried out dozens of raids on Wednesday targeting the southern suburb of the Lebanese capital Beirut and cities and towns in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa.
The ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon resulted in a large number of civilians killed and wounded and extensive destruction of buildings, facilities and infrastructure.
The Lebanese government’s Disaster Management Unit said in its daily report that during the last two days, about 134 Israeli airstrikes and shelling were recorded on different areas of Lebanon, most of which were concentrated in the south and the suburbs of Beirut.
The report added, “The number of killed and wounded during the past 24 hours reached 55 martyrs and 156 wounded, bringing the total number since October 8 to 1,928 martyrs and 9,290 wounded.”
The unit indicated that “the total number of displaced persons has risen to 1.2 million people, including 160,200 registered in shelters.”
The Israeli warplanes launched raids and artillery and phosphorous shelling targeting the city of Nabatieh and the towns of Kounine, Sawwaneh, Toulin, Ainata, Rab Thalatheen, Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Yaroun, Toura, Jbaa, Toul, Maarakeh, Bint Jbeil, Tayri, Shaqra, Maroun al-Ras, al-Jabin, Aitaroun, Kfar Kila, Adaisseh, Blida, Markaba, al-Zrarieh, Burj Qalawieh, Zawtar al-Gharbiya, Deir Qanoun, Ramieh, Aita al-Shaab, Beit Yahoun, al-Sultaniyeh, Mifadoun, Jebchit, Debel, al-Khiam, al-Duwayr, Harouf, Kfar Hamam, Deir Anta, Hasbaya, Alma al-Shaab, Burj al-Muluk and Naqoura south of Lebanon.
The occupation forces also raided the city of Baalbek and the towns of Yahmor, Harbata, Zboud, Hermel, Karak, Shamshtar, Bouday, Tamnin al-Tahta, Ali al-Nahri, Bednayel, al-Farzal, Hawsh al-Sayyid Ali, al-Saeeda, Shaat, Kfar Dan, al-Nabi Sheet, al-Khader, and Douris in the Bekaa.
Six Palestinian refugees, half of them children, were killed and others were injured, before dawn on Tuesday, in an Israeli bombardment that targeted Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon.
The Israeli occupation warplanes bombed a house in the densely populated Al-Manshiya neighborhood in the Ein Al-Hilweh camp, which led to the martyrdom of 6 citizens, including 3 children.
This is the first time that the occupation has targeted Ain al-Hilweh camp since its aggression on Lebanon.
The bombing coincided with the Israeli occupation army’s announcement of the start of a ground military operation in southern Lebanon.

After hours of attempts to cover up and impose censorship, the Israeli army allowed the announcement of the killing of 8 Israeli soldiers and officers in the battles in southern Lebanon and the injury of 7 others seriously. The statement did not mention the number of those injured with moderate and minor injuries.
Al-Mayadeen news agency reported a much higher number of more than 80 Israeli officers and soldiers were killed and wounded, and approximately 5 Merkava tanks destroyed in the battles on the front lines in southern Lebanon today.
