Medical sources in Gaza confirmed that Israeli occupation authorities released the bodies of 15 slain Palestinians on Monday, transferred via the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the besieged Gaza Strip.
This latest batch brings the total number of bodies returned since the October 2025 ceasefire to 315, with only 89 identified so far.
This marks the twelfth batch of bodies released by Israel since the ceasefire agreement declared on October 11, 2025.
The bodies are handed over without names, often marked only with spray-painted numbers, and many are buried in mass graves in Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza, due to their unrecognizable condition.
According to hospital staff and eyewitnesses, most of the bodies show signs of torture, burning, and execution-style injuries.
Many were found with their hands and eyes bound, and their facial features obliterated, making identification nearly impossible for grieving families.
Gaza’s Government Media Office has also reported organ theft, citing the removal of corneas, kidneys, and livers from several bodies.
These claims have prompted calls from human rights organizations and forensic experts for international investigation and accountability, citing potential violations of the Geneva Conventions, particularly regarding the treatment of detainees and the dead.
The release of these bodies underscores the scale of Israeli violations and the urgent need for forensic review, legal scrutiny, and humanitarian intervention.
Families continue to wait for answers, as the physical evidence returned to Gaza paints a harrowing picture of abuse, disappearance, and extrajudicial killing.
On Sunday, in yet another deadly violation of the “ceasefire” Israeli occupation forces killed a Palestinian civilian in a drone strike targeting Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis in the southern part of the devastated and besieged Gaza Strip.
Since the ceasefire took effect, the toll of Israeli violations has risen to:
- 242 Palestinians killed
- 614 wounded
- 522 bodies recovered from rubble
- 315 bodies returned by Israeli authorities, with only 89 identified so far.
Meanwhile, the overall death toll from Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza since October 7 has reached:
The overall death toll from Israel’s genocide of the Palestinians in Gaza has now reached more than 69,169, the majority of them women and children, with more than 170,000 injured.
Among the slain Palestinians are 20,000 children in addition to 463 deaths due to starvation, including 157 children. More than 33,000 women and girls have been killed by Israel since October 7, 2023.
