Thursday, the Israeli occupation authorities renewed an annexation order of 16.5 Dunams of Palestinian lands near Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.
Mohammad Azem, the head of the Joint Services Council for villages in northern Nablus, said the army handed the order, renewing the annexation of the Palestinian lands, until the year 2027, for what the military described as “military purposes.”
Azem added that lands, 16.583 Dunams, are owned by Palestinians from the towns of Deir Sharaf and Naqoura, west of Nablus.
Azem also said annexed lands are much larger than the 16.5 Dunams declared in the military order and that the Palestinians have all official deeds proving ownership.
The lands are in Basin 12 of Naqoura village and Basin 10 of Deir Sharaf and are near the illegal Shavei Shomron illegal colony, built on stolen Palestinian lands.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
