The Israeli occupation authorities have decided to transfer the corpse of a child, killed by the soldiers in November of 2021, to his family, in occupied Jerusalem, in the West Bank.
The family said the army said it intended to hand them the corpse of their son, Omar Ibrahim Abu Assab, 16, on the evening of this coming Monday, after holding his body for more than three and a half months.
It is worth mentioning that Abu Assab, from the al-Isawiya town in Jerusalem, was shot by Israeli soldiers in the al-Wad Street, in the occupied capital, Jerusalem, on November 17, 2021.
The Israeli army claimed the soldiers shot him after stabbing two police officers and refused to transfer his corpse to his family for a proper burial ceremony.
Hours after his death, Israeli soldiers, intelligence agents, and police officers invaded the family’s home, ransacked it before abducting his father, mother, and brother, and released them after several hours of interrogation.
Attorney Mohammad Mahmoud of the Wadi Hilweh Information Center In Silwan (Silwanic) said a surveillance video released by the Israeli police shows that the officers could have subdued the teen without killing him if they had to resort to live fire.
