On Monday dawn, Israeli soldiers abducted at least nine Palestinians from several parts of the occupied West Bank.
In Ramallah, in the central West Bank, the soldiers invaded Aroura village, northwest of the city, searched homes, and abducted a young man, Tareq Saleh.
Many Palestinians protested the invasion and hurled stones at the military jeeps while the soldiers fired several live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.
Furthermore, the soldiers closed the village’s two main entrances and prevented the Palestinians from entering or leaving, forcing them to look for alternate, longer, unpaved routes. On Sunday, the soldiers shot a child with a rubber-coated steel bullet and caused five schoolchildren to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation in the village.
The soldiers also invaded the Al-Mughayyir village, northeast of Ramallah, leading to protests, while several young men ruled stones at the military jeeps and colonizers’ cars driving near the village.
In the northwestern West Bank in Tulkarem, the soldiers abducted a former political prisoner, Mihraj Ibrahim Shehada, 47, after storming his home in Tulkarem refugee camp and causing serious property damage.
On April 29, 2001, the soldiers shot Mihraj in the lung and abducted him before an Israeli court sentenced him to 30 years, but the ruling was later reduced to 15 years.
During the invasion, the soldiers broke into and searched homes and occupied rooftops before using them as firing posts and monitoring towers, while many Palestinians protested the attack.
Palestinian fighters also exchanged fire with the soldiers invading the refugee camp, especially when the soldiers attempted to abduct a young man, Jihad Ibrahim Shehada, but took his father prisoner after failing to local Jihad.
The soldiers also abducted Samir Raed Jaradat, 18, from his home in Sa’ir town, northeast of the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
In Beit Kahil town, northwest of Hebron, the soldiers abducted Fadel Amir Asafra, 19, Qasam Haitham Asarfa, 23, Mo’taz Nabil Asafra, 26, and Fathi Jihad Asafra, 28, after the army stormed and ransacked many homes.
In Jenin, in the northern West Bank, the soldiers stormed and ransacked several homes in the Silat Al-Harithiya town, west of the city, and abducted Essam Wajeeh Abu T’eima.
In Tubas, in the northeastern West Bank, the soldiers abducted Bassel Mustafa Bisharat, 23, from Tammoun town, south of the city, while crossing a military roadblock west of Nablus city in the northern West Bank.
In Nablus, in the northern West Bank, the soldiers invaded and violently searched the home of Abdul-Fattah Hussein Kharousha, 49, who was one of six Palestinians shot and killed by Israeli troops during a massive invasion of the northern West Bank Palestinian city of Jenin, as well as invading the Jenin refugee camp on the outskirts of the city, on March 07, 2023. Israel also imprisons his son.
The soldiers took measurements of the Kharousha family home in preparation for demolishing it.
