On Sunday evening, Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian-American child and injured two others near Turmus Ayya, a town northeast of Ramallah in the central region of the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that the General Authority of Civil Affairs informed them of the death of 14-year-old Amer Mohammad Sa’ada Rabea’, who succumbed to his injuries after being shot and abducted by Israeli soldiers. Amer, a U.S. citizen, was visiting with his family other relatves in Ramallah.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) stated that its medics transported the two injured children, aged 14 and 15, to a hospital in Ramallah. According to the PRCS, one child was shot in the abdomen, while the other sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh.
The PRCS noted that Israeli forces delayed the arrival of Palestinian medical teams from Turmus Ayya by closing roads in the area.
During her visit to the hospital where the two injured children were being treated, Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governor Laila Ghannam condemned the targeting of three children, all of whom hold American citizenship, by Israeli occupation forces.
Ghannam described the incident as part of a “continuous pattern of state-organized terrorism,” exposing what she referred to as the “true face” of Israeli occupation policies aimed at killing Palestinian children and eradicating the Palestinian population. She asserted that these actions constitute fully-fledged war crimes.
The governor highlighted that this attack occurred during the Palestinian commemoration of Children’s Day, a day marking the hardships faced by Palestinian children who endure violence, imprisonment, and deprivation—whether in devastated Gaza or in cities and towns across the occupied West Bank.
Ghannam further emphasized that the ongoing assaults against the Palestinian people and their children underscore the systematic disregard by the Israeli government for basic human rights, as well as international laws and conventions designed to protect children.
It is worth mentioning that, since the beginning of this year, Israeli soldiers have killed 118 Palestinians, including 21 children, in the occupied West Bank. Top of Form
