On Wednesday morning, Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian child and injured several Palestinians in Rafah, in the southernmost part of the Gaza Strip.
Medical sources confirmed that the soldiers killed a child, Mohammad Abu Zakkar, 16, in the eastern area of Rafah.
They added that the child was killed by a live round fired by an Israeli army sharpshooter, and that the soldiers fired many live rounds at several parts of Rafah, wounding at least five Palestinians.
Palestine TV reported that the soldiers continued to besiege schools where families sheltered in Rafah, and that the soldiers also surrounded many homes, including those in the center of the city.
Palestine TV added that the army also fired many live rounds, wounding several Palestinians near the Al-Awda Mosque, Al-Awda Junction, and Al-Kaf area in Rafah.
It is worth mentioning that the army continued its breaches of the ceasefire agreement, including limiting the number of aid trucks entering Gaza and reducing the number of wounded Palestinians who are supposed to be transferred to Egypt through the Rafah border terminal.
On Sunday, the Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed the deaths of two Palestinians who were seriously injured by Israeli military fire two days earlier in Rafah and Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
On Sunday evening, Hani Awwad Abu Halawa died from serious wounds sustained after the army bombarded an area east of Rafah. The army also killed three Palestinian police officers: Yousef al-Eid, Ibrahim al-Eid, and Bilal al-Meghari. The three officers were part of a police force that provides security to aid trucks entering Gaza.
Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed at least 48,272 Palestinian citizens, most of whom were women and children, and wounded 111,693. At least 14,000 victims remain under the rubble of bombed buildings.
