On Wednesday evening, dozens of Israeli soldiers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, fired gas bombs and concussion grenades, and assaulted dozens of worshipers while forcing them out of the holy compound, causing many injuries.
Media sources said the soldiers surrounded the Al-Qibli Mosque in Al-Aqsa Compound before storming it and started firing gas bombs and concussion grenades, in addition to physically assaulting many worshipers, causing scores of injuries.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Jerusalem said its medics could only operate around the holy site due to Israeli military restrictions and only managed to transfer one wounded Palestinian to a hospital.
It added that, a few hours later, its medics treated six wounded Palestinians and transferred two of them to a hospital.
The soldiers stormed Al-Qibli Mosque, dragged the worshippers out, and abducted many Palestinians from the mosque and nearby areas, including Bab Al-Amoud.
