Israeli forces demolished, on Monday, a Palestinian-owned home in the village of Al-Burj, southwest of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank.

The army demolished the two-storey, 100 square meter home with an excavator in the village, situated adjacent to the 1949 Armistice Agreement Line (Green Line).

The home, belonging to the Palestinian citizen, Muhammad Youssef Nassar, was inhabited by seven family members, all of whom were rendered homeless as a result of the occupation policies.

No justification was provided for the destruction of the home.

Article 53 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states;

Any destruction by the Occupying Power of real or personal property belonging individually or collectively to private persons, or to the State, or to other public authorities, or to social or cooperative organizations, is prohibited, except where such destruction is rendered absolutely necessary by military operations.
