Israeli settlers set up, on Friday, a new settlement outpost on Palestinian-owned lands near the illegal Kiryat Arba colony, located east of Hebron city in the southern occupied West Bank, according to a local source.
Atta Jaber told the Palestinian News & Information Agency (WAFA) that dozens of illegal colonists set up caravans and tents on a hill under the full protection of the Israeli military who forced journalists away from the scene, obstructing their ability to cover the incident.
Quds Press added that the expropriated land, located near the bypass road east of Hebron belongs to a local resident, identified as Hamouda Jaber.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states;
“The Occupying Power (Israel), shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies (Palestine).”
In related news, Israeli forces stormed, on Friday, the center of Hebron city while firing tear gas canisters and concussion grenades at Palestinian civilians and commercial stores, causing dozens of citizens to suffer the toxic effects of tear gas inhalation, according to WAFA correspondent.
