On Thursday evening, illegal Israeli paramilitary colonizers assaulted a Palestinian in Ein Al-Hilwa, in the Jordan Valley’s northern plains, in the occupied West Bank.

Mahdi Daraghmeh, the head of Al-Maleh and Bedouin Villages Council, stated that the colonizers invaded the Ein Al-Hilwa Bedouin community and stormed the residents’ tents.

He added that the colonizers assaulted and injured one Palestinian, identified as Sati Elian Daraghmeh.

About ten days earlier, the colonizers installed an illegal outpost near the villagers’ tents, before more colonizers joined in a move that apparently aims to expand the outpost.

It is worth mentioning that the area is subject to constant Israeli invasions and violations by Israeli soldiers and paramilitary colonizers.

All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.

Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
