On Thursday, illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers attacked Palestinian cars in Wadi Al-Haseen, east of Hebron, while the occupation forces prevented a large number of citizens from reaching their homes.
Local sources said a group of paramilitary colonizers, under the protection of the Israeli soldiers, attacked citizens’ vehicles, while they stopped in the vicinity of a mosque in the Jabari neighborhood.
They added that the colonizers broke the windows of some of the cars and caused others damage.
In addition, the soldiers closed roadblock #160, before detaining and assaulting many Palestinians, and prevented hundreds of them from reaching their homes, in addition to firing concussion grenades and tear gas at them.
The military roadblock, where a large number of Israeli soldiers are constantly stationed, is the only outlet used by thousands of citizens from Jaber and Al-Salayma neighborhoods after the Israeli army completely closed all other streets.
The Palestinians in the Old City and the neighborhoods in its eastern parts have been suffering from a significant increase in the frequency of attacks by the colonizers and the soldiers since the seventh of last October.
The army repeatedly imposes curfews, preventing the Palestinians from leaving their homes, in addition to imposing severe restrictions on the movement of Palestinians, including limited and setting timeframes on when the Palestinians can enter or leave their neighborhood through the various military roadblocks.
The Palestinians in the Old City and all neighborhoods in the eastern part suffer frequent violations by the soldiers and the colonizers, who attack their homes, shops, cars, and lands.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory.”
