On Saturday, illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers attacked Palestinian shepherds in the Arab Al-Mleihat area, northwest of Jericho, in the occupied West Bank’s northeastern part.
Hasan Al-Mleihat, the coordinator of the Al-Baidar Organization for Defending Bedouin Rights, said a group of paramilitary colonizers invaded the area in the Al-Mo’arrajat, accompanied by their dogs.
Al-Mleihat added that the colonizers attacked the Palestinian shepherds and threatened to unleash their dogs on them if they did not leave the grazing grounds.
The attack is part of ongoing violations against the Palestinians, including fathers and shepherds, in several parts of the West Bank.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including those in and around occupied East Jerusalem, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention in addition to various United Nations and Security Council resolutions. They also constitute war crimes under International Law.
Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.” It also prohibits the “individual or mass forcible transfers, as well as deportations of protected persons from occupied territory”.
