Illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers attempted to set fire to a mosque early Tuesday in the town of Bizzariya, northwest of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank. Colonizers also attacked a Palestinian bus in occupied Jerusalem and carried out violations in other parts of the West Bank.
Local sources said the colonizers set fire to a room adjacent to the Noureddin Zenki Mosque after failing to break its doors and sprayed racist slogans on nearby walls.
The Palestinian Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs condemned what it described as a criminal attack on the mosque in Bizzariya, stressing that targeting mosques and houses of worship represents a dangerous and systematic escalation aimed at provoking Muslims and violating the sanctity of holy sites protected under international law.
Nablus Endowments Director Sheikh Nasser Salman said the attempt to burn parts of the Noureddin Zenki Mosque and deface it with racist graffiti reflects continued incitement to attack Palestinian holy sites.
“Mosques will remain filled with their people and their message of faith,” he said, adding that such attacks will not break the will of the Palestinian people or their attachment to their land and sacred sites.
The ministry called on international and human rights institutions to assume their responsibilities in protecting places of worship and curbing repeated colonizer assaults on Palestinian towns and villages.
Meanwhile, groups of colonizers invaded Awarta village southeast of Nablus and carried out what residents described as provocative tours between Palestinian homes and agricultural lands, particularly olive groves.
In the northeastern West Bank, colonizers invaded the Yarza community east of Tayasir near Tubas and grazed their livestock around Palestinian homes and on privately owned lands.
In occupied Jerusalem, colonizers attacked a Palestinian bus, using pepper spray against passengers, physically assaulting them, and shouting insults, according to local sources.
Elsewhere, colonizers entered the Khalayel al‑Louz area south of Bethlehem and grazed their sheep on Palestinian lands, damaging trees and crops. Local sources said the area has faced repeated colonizer assaults, including attacks on homes and vehicles, gunfire, road closures, and livestock theft.
