A large group of Israeli colonizers invaded, on Tuesday evening, the Old City and Silwan town, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in the occupied capital, Jerusalem, in the occupied West Bank.
Media sources said the colonizers, accompanied by many soldiers and police officers, invaded the Bab Al-Qattanin area in the Old City, while the soldiers installed roadblocks and prevented the Palestinians from entering the area.
The sources added that the soldiers and the police officers stopped and interrogated many Palestinians and refused to allow them to enter the Old City and all areas around the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The colonizers also marched in the alleys and between the Palestinian homes while dancing and singing, while the soldiers prevented the Palestinians from leave their homes or returning to them.
The invasions and the serious restrictions by the soldiers and the police against the Palestinians were made to allow dozens of Israeli fanatics to march in the Silwan and the Old City, especially around the Al-Aqsa Mosque in their march, planned to be held, on Wednesday.
The march will also be attended by senior Israeli officials, including government ministers and the fanatic far-right National Security Minister, Itamar Ben Gvir.
Various fanatic colonialist groups have also called for massive invasions and provocative tours in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Israeli daily Haaretz said dozens of thousands are expected to participate in the “annual flag march,” which is planned to go through the Damascus Gate and the streets of the Muslim Quarter of the Old City.
Haaretz added that the police will deploy a large number of soldiers in the Old City, and will close many streets, and added that “more than 3,000 police officers, soldiers, and volunteers will secure the march and other crowded events.”
