A Palestinian child was killed and a young man was critically injured by an Israeli drone strike, on Wednesday, in the town of Tammun, south of Tubas in the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank.
On Wednesday morning, Najeh Bani Odeh, the head of the Tammun Municipal Council, announced that the child, Rayan Hussam Bani Odeh, 17, succumbed to critical injuries he sustained before dawn in Tammun town.
Media sources said that the Israeli military carried out a drone strike targeting a group of young men in Tammun town, before dawn Wednesday, causing two critical injuries.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PPS) said that its ambulance crews transported two citizens to the hospital after they sustained injuries as a result of the drone strike.
Sources added that a large army force, including a military bulldozer, invaded Tammun after midnight Tuesday/Wednesday, amid the overhead flight of reconnaissance drones, sparking protests.
In the afternoon, large crowds of Palestinians gathered in front of the Turkish Hospital in Tubas to receive the body of the slain child, Rayan Hussam Bani Odeh, 17.
Mourners carried the body of the slain child on their shoulders towards the child’s family home in Tammun town, where his loved ones paid their respects, before burying him in the town’s cemetery.
Since the beginning of the Israeli military onslaught against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 834 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 171 children, and injured 6,500.
The distribution of those killed in the West Bank is as follows; 223 in Jenin, 195 in Tulkarem, 93 in Nablus, 77 in Hebron, 67 in Tubas, 59 in Ramallah, 50 in occupied Jerusalem, 33 in Qalqilia, 21 in Bethlehem, 12 in Jericho, 12 inside Israel, and 4 in Salfit.
Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 45,361 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, most of whom are women and children, and injured 107,803 citizens, while the bodies of thousands of citizens remain buried under the rubble of the devastated coastal enclave.
