On Thursday, Israeli forces abducted five Palestinians, and injured many others in the Bethlehem governorate, in the southern occupied West Bank.
In the southern occupied West Bank, Israeli forces stormed, on Thursday morning, the city of Bethlehem and the village of Al-Walaja, northwest of the city, and abducted four Palestinians.
Israeli forces invaded and searched the homes of Basil Ali Harimi, 27, Muhammad Ayed Alyan, 28, Mamdouh Khaled Al-Araj, 34, in the city, and Muhammad Amin Al-Atrash, 28, from the village of Al-Walaja, northwest of the city, before abducting them.
In the afternoon, the army abducted the coordinator of the Factional Coordination Committee in Bethlehem, Muhammad al-Jaafari, in his fifties, after he met with Israeli intelligence.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces invaded the town of Al-Khader, west of Bethlehem, sparking protests among local Palestinian youths.
Soldiers opened fire with live rounds, concussion grenades, and tear gas canisters, causing several citizens to sustain inhalation injuries; treatment was provided by local medics at the scene.
In related news, the army closed the main road in the town of Husan, west of the city.
According to Rami Hamamra, the head of the Husan Village Council, said that Israeli forces invaded the town from the eastern entrance, forcing shop owners to close their shops, and impeding the movement of citizens.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs reported that the Israeli occupation army has abducted 7,040 Palestinians in the West Bank since the beginning of the military onslaught against the Strip Gaza, on October 7, 2023.
