The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) reported Wednesday that Israeli occupation forces have abducted approximately 120 Palestinians from across the occupied West Bank since the beginning of the week. Among those abducted are children, women, former political prisoners, and individuals held as hostages.
In its statement, the PPS noted that the escalation in abductions has been concentrated in the governorates of Hebron, Jenin, Qalqilia, and Nablus.
It added that at least 30 Palestinians were abducted between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning alone.
The PPS stated that the invasions have been accompanied by serious violations, including killing and wounding many Palestinians, widespread destruction of homes, and a surge in field interrogations marked by brutal beatings and hostage-taking.
Since the onset of the genocide in Gaza on October 7, 2023, the total number of abduction cases in the occupied West Bank has reached approximately 19,000, including more than 590 women and around 1,550 children.
These figures include both those still held and those later released, and do not account for the thousands abducted from Gaza.
On Tuesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed the killing of two Palestinian men by Israeli forces in the city of Qalqilia, located in the northern West Bank.
According to the Civil Affairs Authority, the victims were identified as Waseem Khalil Mousa Abu Ali (41) and Khaled Nimir Sweilem Hassan (34), both shot dead at dawn by Israeli occupation forces. Their bodies were seized and remain in Israeli custody.
On Monday, Israeli soldiers fatally shot a Palestinian worker, Sanad Najeh Hantouli, 25, in the ar-Ram town, north of the occupied Palestinian capital, Jerusalem, in the occupied West bank.
On Saturday evening, a seriously wounded Palestinian young man, Mohammad Issa Alawi, 20, died of his injuries, after he was shot by illegal Israeli colonizers in village of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank.
Israel has now killed 207 Palestinians, including 199 children and 8 children, in the occupied West Bank since the beginning of this year.
70 of the slain Palestinians were killed in Jenin, 37 in Nablus, 27 in Tubas, 17 in Tulkarem, 16 in Hebron, 14 in Ramallah, 9 in Bethlehem, 6 in Qalqilia, 7 in Jerusalem, 3 in Salfit and 1 in Jericho.
The killings come amid a sharp escalation in Israeli military offensive across the West Bank since October 7, 2023. According to recent statistics, 1,042 Palestinians, including 22 children, 17 women, 2 medics and one journalist, have been killed and approximately 7,000 injured by Israeli forces and settlers since the start of the war on Gaza.
