Israeli occupation forces demolished a large under‑construction home Tuesday in the town of al‑Khader, south of Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank.
Media sources said troops stormed the Ard ad‑Deir area west of the town and demolished the three‑story house, each floor measuring about 250 square meters, belonging to Imad Hassan Abu Sarra.
Witnesses reported that soldiers surrounded the area before bringing in heavy machinery to carry out the demolition.
The property was still under construction, but its destruction represents a major financial loss for the family.
The army claimed the home, built on privately owned Palestinian land, was constructed without a permit from the so‑called “Civil Administration Office,” the administrative branch of the illegal Israeli occupation.
Human rights groups note that al‑Khader has faced repeated demolitions in recent months, part of a wider Israeli policy of restricting Palestinian construction in Area C of the occupied West Bank, where Israel rarely grants building permits.
Families are growing in number, yet are denied the ability to expand housing, forcing them to build without authorization and leaving them vulnerable to demolition orders.
The latest action comes amid a broader escalation across the West Bank, where Israeli forces have intensified invasions, abductions, and demolitions, while illegal Israeli colonies and colonialist outposts continue to expand on Palestinian land.
