Israeli troops demolished, before dawn on Monday, two Palestinian-owned homes in the city of Qalqilia in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank, and shot one young man.

After midnight on Monday Israeli occupation forces, accompanied by an excavator and a front-end loader, stormed the city of Qalqilia from several directions.


In the northern part of the city, soldiers surrounded the home of the former prisoner, Saleh Abu Saleh, forcibly evacuated the family, and proceeded to demolish the 120-metre home.


Later, soldiers surrounded the 120 square-metre home of another former prisoner, Bassam Yassin, and demolished it.


Local Palestinian young men protested the destruction of homes, while soldiers fired many live rounds, shoot a Palestinian young man in the thigh with live ammunition.

He was transported to Qalqilia Hospital for medical treatment where his injury was described as moderate.

Soldiers also invaded and ransacked the home of the citizen, Saeed Yassin, causing damage, in addition to searching citizens’ vehicles.

In related news, on Sunday, Israeli authorities delivered stop-construction orders to four homes and an agricultural pond in Faroush Beit Dajan village, east of Nablus in the northern West Bank.

Occupation authorities ordered the cessation of work against two under construction homes in the village of Duma, south of Nablus, and confiscated a privately-owned vehicle after detaining its owner for many hours before releasing him.

In the Old City of occupied Jerusalem occupation authorities notified Palestinian citizens of their intention to demolish 200 facilities, homes, and rooms.
