Israeli missiles executed a Palestinian man, on Friday, after a prolonged gun battle, while seven soldiers were injured, near the town of Deir Ibzi’, west of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank.

Media sources reported that the young man, Mujahid Barakat Mansour, 32, from Deir Ibzi’, opened fire at a bus carrying illegal Israeli colonizers near the “Dolev” settlement, before dawn on Friday.

Israeli forces rushed to the scene and conducted a search for the gunman, while heavy exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the injury of at least eight occupation soldiers.

Israeli media reported that the young man was armed with a sniper-rifle, and continued to exchange fire with the army, before the elite “Duvdevan” unit was called to the scene.

The elite Commando brigade also came under fire, before two attack helicopters and a drone arrived for reinforcement; the military helicopter fired two guided missiles, killing Mansour.

It was added that the army confiscated the body of the slain young man, and a large army force invaded Deir Ibzi’ town.

The army surrounded the young man’s family home in the town, and abducted his wife and his brother, the identities of whom were unknown at the time of writing this report.

It is important to mention that Mansour is a former prisoner, a married father of two, and a former member of the presidential security.

Israeli forces and colonizers have killed 449 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank since the beginning of the Israeli military onslaught against the Gaza Strip, on October 7, 2023.
