Israeli forces executed two unarmed Palestinian young men, on Thursday afternoon, in the northern West Bank city of Jenin.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the deaths of two young men, Muntaser Billah Mahmoud Qassem Abdullah (26 years old) and Youssef Ali Youssef Asasa (37 years old), after they were shot by Israeli forces in the Jabal Abu Dhahir area of Jenin.
The Ministry added that Israeli forces desecrated the young mens’ bodies with a bulldozer, before confiscating them, according to the Palestinian General Authority for Civil Affairs.
Media sources reported that occupation forces executed two young men after shooting them at point-blank range, in the Jabal Abu Thaher neighborhood of Jenin city.
The sources added that occupation forces deployed sharpshooters on rooftops, while reconnaissance drones hovered in the airspace overhead.
WAFA correspondent reported that undercover Israeli agents infiltrated the Jabal Abu Thaher neighborhood and surrounded a house, followed by military reinforcements, including a military bulldozer.
He added that the soldiers opened heavy fire at the young men who surrendered themselves with their hands raised, after exiting the besieged storage room.
The ARAB 48 News website quoted Kamal Abu al-Rub, the Governor of Jenin who said that “the Israeli army did not allow anyone to approach the two Palestinian youths whom they executed in cold blood, and prevented ambulances from transporting them.”
In a statement, the Israeli army announced that “earlier on Thursday evening, during an operation carried out by the Border Police and the Israeli army in the city of Jenin… the forces worked to arrest wanted individuals who carried out terrorist acts, including throwing explosive devices and shooting at security forces.”
For his part, the head of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS), Abdullah Al-Zaghari, stated that “the execution of the two young men, Al-Muntasir Billah Abdullah and Youssef Ali Asasa in Jenin, amounts to a war crime and a crime against humanity, and falls within the ongoing war of extermination against our people, which summarizes the occupation’s historical approach in its practice of extrajudicial killings.”
Al-Zaghari added that “the two young men who were executed were former prisoners who had been arrested by the occupation forces, and that one of them was the brother of the martyr of the prisoner movement, Khaled Abdullah, who died in the occupation prisons last March.”
The Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas, in a statement, declared that “the execution by the occupation of two unarmed young men in Jenin in cold blood, despite their leaving the house without posing any threat, reveals once again the criminal mentality that governs the behavior of the occupation, and its complete disregard for Palestinian blood, outside of all human laws and norms.”
