Israeli forces killed a Palestinian young man and abducted another on Wednesday, after invading the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that the young man, Mohammad Jamal Omar Madani, 25, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival to the hospital, after being shot by Israeli forces.
WAFA correspondent reported that an undercover Israeli unit (Musta’ribeen) infiltrated the Balata refugee camp driving a vehicle with Palestinian plates, and besieged a citizen’s home, followed by military reinforcements.
He added that occupation forces opened fire with live rounds and tear gas canisters, shooting a young man with live ammunition before he was transported to hospital for treatment.
Israeli soldiers abducted the young man, Mujahid Khadish, after besieging his home in the camp, taking him to an unknown location.
The Arab 48 News Website quoted the occupation army who claimed that “During the operation, the forces raided a building where the wanted man was operating and arrested him. At the same time, another man threw stones at the forces from the roof of a nearby building, and the forces responded by opening fire, killing him.”
Later, large crowds of Palestinians gathered in front of the Rafidia Hospital to receive the body of the slain man, before traveling to his family’s home in the Balata refugee camp and burying him in the Martyrs’ Cemetery in the camp.

Since the beginning of the year, Israeli forces and colonizers have killed 198 Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, including 37 children and 6 women.
