The Palestinian Health Ministry announced on Tuesday that occupation forces shot and killed 17-year-old Mohannad Tariq Mohammad Al-Zughair, near the Abu Dajjan area in Hebron city, and confiscated his body.
Media sources reported that before midnight on Monday, a suspect carried out a car-ramming attempt near the bypass road between the town of Tarqumiya and Hebron city.
In a statement, the army claimed that “following a report of an operation (near Halhul), the (perpetrator) drove his car towards Israeli army forces, resulting in the injury of an Israeli army soldier.”
The statement added that army forces “responded by firing at the perpetrator, a hit was confirmed, and a pursuit operation began.”
The army stated that the suspect escaped from the scene sparking a wide-scale search campaign, storming the city, and positioning units at the entrances to a number of hospitals in search for the wounded suspect.
