Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian child, on Saturday evening, and injured two others, including a child, in the town of Beit Furik, southeast of Nablus, in the northern West Bank.
Media sources said that occupation forces invaded Beit Furik town, which triggered protests among local Palestinian youths, while soldiers opened fire with live rounds, shooting three citizens, including two children.
In a statement, the Palestinian Health Ministry announced that the child, Sultan Abdul Rahman Sultan Khatahtbeh, 16, was shot and killed by Israeli forces in the town of Beit Furik.
According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), its ambulance crews transported three citizens to hospital, one of whom suffered very serious injuries from live round to the chest.
The PRCS added that a 45-year-old man sustained a live gunshot wound to the thigh, and a 16-year-old child sustained a live gunshot wound to the foot; they also said that occupation forces assaulted an ambulance driver and smashed the windows of the ambulance.
Ma’an News correspondent quoted medical sources who said that the child was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived at Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, and added that he was shot in the heart by live ammunition.
Later, large crowds of Palestinian young men gathered in front of Rafidia Hospital and proceeded to carry the body of the slain child on their shoulders through the streets to the town of Beit Furik, southeast of Nablus.
In Beit Furik town, the child’s family members and loved ones, said their final goodbyes before laying him to rest in the town’s cemetery.
Israeli forces have now killed 549 Palestinian civilians, including 135 children, and injured at least 5,200 others, in various regions of the occupied West Bank, since the beginning of the military onslaught against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.

In related news, occupation soldiers brutally assaulted, on Saturday evening, a Palestinian young man while he was present near the town of Ya’bad, west of Jenin in the northern West Bank.
Media sources said that Israeli forces severely assaulted the young man, Saddam Abu Rmila, a resident of the Jenin refugee camp, and left him unconscious near the entrance to Ya’bad town; he was subsequently transported to the Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin.
