Israeli forces killed a Palestinian young man and injured nine others, on Friday night, after invading the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that the young man, Mohammad Madhat Amin Amer, 18, died of serious gunshot wounds inflicted on him by occupation forces during their incursion into the Balata refugee camp.


The Ministry added that nine wounded young men, including four in critical condition, were transported to the hospital after being shot by Israeli soldiers in the Balata refugee camp.

Media sources said that the army invaded the Balata refugee camp, on Friday night, deployed sharpshooters on tall rooftops, and opened fire at citizens with live ammunition.

Sources added that occupation soldiers obstructed the work of ambulance crews, preventing them from entering the camp to reach the injured young men.

On Saturday, Palestinians gathered in front of the Rafidia hospital to receive the body of the slain young man, Amer, 18, before marching through the streets to the family’s home in the Balata refugee camp.

After loved ones paid their final respects, mourners buried the body of the slain young man in the Martyrs’ Cemetery in the camp.

Since the beginning of the Israeli military onslaught against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 837 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 172 children, and injured 6,500.

The distribution of those killed in the West Bank is as follows; 224 in Jenin, 196 in Tulkarem, 94 in Nablus, 77 in Hebron, 67 in Tubas, 59 in Ramallah, 50 in occupied Jerusalem, 33 in Qalqilia, 21 in Bethlehem, 12 in Jericho, 12 inside Israel, and 4 in Salfit.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 45,717 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, most of whom are women and children, and injured 108,856 citizens, while the bodies of thousands of citizens remain buried under the rubble of the devastated coastal enclave.

In related news, occupation forces shot a Palestinian young man after storming the town of Beit Furik, southeast of Nablus, on Friday afternoon.


The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that its ambulance crews transported a 20-year-old man to the hospital after Israeli soldiers shot him in the leg with live ammunition.

Media sources said that occupation forces invaded Beit Furik town, on Friday afternoon, sparking protests, while soldiers opened heavy fire with live rounds and tear gas canisters.

Meanwhile, in the central part of the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces shot and detained a Palestinian young man after storming the city of Al-Biereh, east of Ramallah, on Friday afternoon.

The PRCS reported that its ambulance crews were later able to transport a Palestinian young man to the hospital after soldiers shot him in the leg with live ammunition.

Media sources said that occupation forces stormed the Jabal al-Tawil and Saht Marhaba areas in the city of al-Biereh; no protests of arrests were reported.
