Israeli forces killed a Palestinian young man and wounded another on Thursday morning after opening fire towards their vehicle near the village of Al-Lubban Ash-Sharqiya, south of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry announced that the young man Khattab Mohammad Ismail Al-Sarhan Daraghmeh (26 years old) was killed by Israeli forces, adding that the army is withholding his body.
According to Yaqoub Awais, the head of the Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya village council, occupation forces shot and injured two Palestinian young men while they were travelling near the entrance to the village.
Awais added that one of the young men sustained serious gunshot wounds and was transported to a hospital inside Israel before his death was announced.
He said that the second young man sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to the Salfit Governmental Hospital for treatment.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that a 22-year-old man was shot in the back with live ammunition, describing his condition as “moderate” and adding that he underwent emergency surgery at the Salfit Governmental Hospital.
Media sources reported that Israeli soldiers fired live ammunition directly at the vehicle the two men were travelling in, before closing off the area and blocking access to it.
In related news, Israeli forces killed Qais Sami Jasser Allan (20 years old) and wounded two others on Tuesday evening, after opening heavy fire towards their vehicle between the villages of Urif and Einabus, south of Nablus.
Since the beginning of the Israeli military aggression against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, occupation forces have killed 1104 Palestinian citizens in the West Bank, including 229 children and 24 women.
In the Jenin governorate, 310 Palestinians have been killed, while 213 were killed in Tulkarem, 140 in Nablus, 105 in Hebron, 98 in Tubas, 81 in Ramallah, 60 in Jerusalem, 42 in Qalqilia, 34 in Bethlehem, 13 in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, and 8 in Salfit, according to the Shireen Observatory.
