Israeli forces killed a Palestinian young man and shot another, at dawn Thursday, after invading the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.
Medical sources at the Rafidia Hospital in Nablus announced that the young man, Jihad Yousef Hussein Abu Salim, 25, succumbed to a critical gunshot wound to the chest.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) confirmed the death of the young man, after occupation forces shot him with live rounds, adding that soldiers blocked ambulance crews from entering the camp to provide first aid to the wounded.
Media sources said that a large army force stormed the Balata refugee camp, before dawn, sparking protests, while soldiers fired many live rounds and tear gas canisters.
Sources added that armed Palestinian resistance fighters confronted the invading army, exchanged fire with occupation soldiers, and targeted military vehicles with live rounds.
The PRCS reported that their ambulance crews transported three injured citizens to the hospital, including a young man who was shot in the leg with live ammunition.
It added that during the invasion, the occupation army assaulted a 60-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man, causing various injuries.
Sources added that Israeli forces abducted the young man, Mohammad Al-Aghbar, in the Balata refugee camp.
In addition to the attack on the Balata refugee camp, occupation forces stormed several areas of the city of Nablus, and broke into a residential building; no arrests were reported.
Soldiers also invaded the Al-Ein refugee camp in Nablus while armed Palestinian resistance fighters exchanged fire with the army.
Since the beginning of the Israeli military onslaught against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 811 Palestinians in the West Bank, including 169 children, and injured 6,450.
The distribution of those killed in the West Bank is as follows; 222 in Jenin, 183 in Tulkarem, 89 in Nablus, 76 in Hebron, 66 in Tubas, 59 in Ramallah, 50 in occupied Jerusalem, 30 in Qalqilia, 20 in Bethlehem, 12 in Jericho, 12 inside Israel, and 4 in Salfit.
Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed 44,835 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, most of whom are women and children, and injured 106,356 citizens, while the bodies of thousands of citizens remain buried under the rubble of the devastated coastal enclave.
