Israeli forces killed two Palestinian young men on Thursday afternoon after an alleged car-ramming and shooting attempt near the Za’tara junction, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported announced that the two young men Mamoun Badawi Idris Rashdan, 25, and Mohammad Ali Bassam Rashdan, 24, both from the village of Einabus, were killed after occupation forces shot them near the Za’tara military roadblock; adding that the Israeli army continues to withhold their bodies.


WAFA correspondent reported that two young men were injured after occupation soldiers opened fire at their vehicle while they were attempting to pass through the Za’tara junction; their conditions were not known.

The army closed the Awarta, Al-Murabba’a, Deir Sharaf, and Huwarra military roadblocks surrounding Nablus city, and enhanced their security measures, obstructing the movement of thousands of citizens.


The ARAB 48 News agency reported that Israeli soldiers killed two unidentified young men during a purported car-ramming and shooting attack near the Za’tara military roadblock.

It quoted the Israeli army who claimed that “armed men attempted to carry out a combined car-ramming and shooting attack against army forces in the vicinity of the Tapuah Junction.”


The occupation army announced that its forces responded by opening fire at the vehicle, resulting in the “neutralization of the perpetrators,” and admitted that there were no injuries reported among its soldiers.

According to the Times of Israel, in an initial investigation, the army claimed that two young men opened fire at an army post, then attempted to escape in their vehicle and attempting to ram into soldiers; first responders announced that both assailants were shot dead at the scene.


The Ma’an News Agency quoted Israel’s Channel 14 who said the alleged attack in the West Bank took place simultaneously with a stabbing attack in the city of Ramat Gan, east of Tel Aviv in central Israel.

The channel also reported that Israeli forces in Nablus claimed that the alleged perpetrators were in possession of a “Carlo-type” weapon; the army provided no evidence to substantiate these claims.

The Jerusalem Post reported that a 47-year-old Israeli man is in stable condition at the Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv after he was stabbed in the city of Ramat Gan, east of Tel Aviv.

It added that a prominent Rabbi sustained serious injuries after he was stabbed and assaulted by the 20-year-old suspect who is resident of the village of Jatt, in northern Israel; he was arrested at the scene.
