A Palestinian man was wounded on Tuesday after Israeli occupation forces opened fire in the eastern outskirts of Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank.
Media sources said the soldiers, stationed near the Wadi al-Hummus area, fired live ammunition at a group of civilians, striking one man in the leg.
They added that local medics treated the wounded Palestinian and evacuated him to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The incident is part of a broader pattern of escalating violence in the occupied West Bank, where Israeli forces have significantly intensified their violations in recent weeks.
Wadi al-Hummus, located near the illegal Annexation Wall and close to East Jerusalem, has witnessed repeated military incursions and land confiscations.
In related news, the soldiers invaded the eastern neighborhood in Jenin city, in the northern West Bank, for the second time in just a few hours, as the army abducted earlier two young men from their homes.
It is worth mentioning that Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of overnight invasions across the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, abducting several Palestinians and imposing military roadblocks in key areas.
