Israeli forces shot a Palestinian young woman, on Thursday evening, in the Tulkarem refugee camp, in the northwestern part of the occupied West Bank. The city of Tulkarem and its two refugee camps have been under Israeli military siege since January 2025.
Media sources said that Israeli sharpshooters positioned in a military barracks in the Tulkarem refugee camp, opened fire with live ammunition, shooting an 18-year-old Palestinian woman in the back while she was present at the entrance to the camp.
Sources added that the injured young woman and her family, in addition to several other citizens, were attempting to enter the Tulkarem camp to inspect their homes when occupation forces opened fire towards them.
Since January 26, 2025, the occupation army has maintained a tight siege against the city of Tulkarem and the Tulkarem refugee camp, while the Nur Shams camp, east of the city, has been under military siege since February 9, 2025.
The Israeli military operation, has forcibly displaced over 5,000 Palestinian families, impacting more than 25,000 residents. More than 600 buildings have been destroyed, while more than 2,500 homes have been partially damaged.
