Israeli forces shot four Palestinians, on Monday, including three in the Qalandia refugee camp and one near the town of Hizma, north and northeast of occupied Jerusalem in the West Bank.
Media sources said that the army stormed, at dawn Monday, the Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, invading and searching several citizens’ homes, which sparked protests.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that its ambulance crews treated three young men who were shot by Israeli forces with live ammunition, in the Qalandia refugee camp.
Meanwhile, occupation forces shot a Palestinian young man after an alleged stabbing attempt at the Hizma military roadblock, northeast of occupied Jerusalem.
Media sources said that Israeli soldiers opened fire at an unidentified young man, at the Hizma military roadblock, on Monday afternoon, after an alleged stabbing attempt.
Eyewitnesses shared videos on social media, which show an unidentified young man lying wounded on the ground beside his vehicle.
Military reinforcements were sent in, while the army prevented the ambulance from reaching the wounded man, and closing the adjacent roads.
The Arab 48 News website quoted Israeli media who claimed that the young man exited his vehicle holding a knife and attacked an Israeli soldier, when an armed paramilitary colonizer shot and “neutralized” him.
In a statement, the Israeli police claimed that a “terrorist” got out of his vehicle waving a knife at a security officer who was passing by the scene, before the officer opened fire on him, shooting him.
The statement added that, “After an explosives expert examined the scene of the incident, and the ‘terrorist’ was taken for medical treatment, the Jerusalem Police Chief is assessing the situation at the scene.”
The wounded young man was reportedly transported to hospital, his condition and identity were not known at the time of writing this report.
It is important to mention that there were no reports of any soldiers or security officers injured in the alleged attack.
