Israeli forces shot and killed, on Wednesday, a Palestinian child in the town of Husan, west of Bethlehem in the southern West Bank, and shot at least eleven others with live ammunition.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Israeli army invaded the eastern entrance to Husan town, west of Bethlehem, sparking protests among local Palestinian youths.

Soldiers opened fire with live rounds and tear gas canisters at those who resisted the incursion, killing a Palestinian child and injuring many others.

Media sources reported that Israeli forces killed the child, Mahmoud Muhammad Issa Zaoul, 16, during confrontations after shooting him in the neck with live ammunition.


At least eleven more youths sustained injuries from live rounds, including a 13-year-old child.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), at least two young men sustained serious injuries, including one who was shot in the chest with live rounds and another who was shot in the head.

The PRCS added that a 13-year-old child was shot in the foot, while other young men sustained gunshot wounds in various areas such as the thigh, back, and arms, while at least seven others sustained inhalation injuries from tear gas exposure.

PRCS ambulance crews transported all those who sustained gunshot wounds to hospital and treated the inhalation injuries at the scene.
