Israeli military units have imposed a full closure on the town of Qabatia, south of Jenin, conducting mass field interrogations and abductions, converting homes and a school into military posts, and bulldozing infrastructure across the northern occupied West Bank.
Israeli occupation forces continued their assault on Qabatia for the second consecutive day, enforcing a tight closure and carrying out widespread field interrogations, abductions, forced displacement, and intensive home invasions.
Several homes were seized and turned into military posts, while a local school was converted into a military base used for detention and interrogation.
Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces stormed numerous homes, searched them extensively, and subjected dozens of residents to on‑the‑spot questioning.
Military bulldozers destroyed sections of the town’s streets after blocking most secondary entrances with earth mounds, preventing residents from entering or leaving. Electricity was cut to several neighborhoods as part of the ongoing operation.
Media sources reported that Israeli forces imposed a full curfew on Qabatia, sealing all entrances and rounding up residents for field interrogations.
Several families were forcibly removed from their homes, and young men were gathered in makeshift interrogation points.
The assault follows Israeli military orders to escalate operations in the town after a resident of Qabatia was accused of carrying out a ramming‑and‑stabbing attack inside Israel.
Forces stormed the suspect’s home and began preparations for its demolition, a practice widely condemned by rights groups and International Law as illegal collective punishment.
The soldiers abducted Ahmad’s father, and Ahmad’s brother, who is with special needs, assaulted and interrogated them for several hours.
Local media in Jenin, including WAFA, Maan News and Quds News, reported the deployment of large infantry units, snipers on rooftops, and bulldozers tearing up roads and infrastructure.
Residents described the situation as a “military lockdown,” with movement restricted and communication disrupted.
The Qabatia offensive is part of a wider pattern of intensified Israeli military actions across the West Bank, including:
- Abductions of Palestinians in Jenin, Nablus, Hebron, and Ramallah.
- Destruction of roads, agricultural land, and public infrastructure.
- Forced displacement in multiple communities.
- Attacks by illegal paramilitary Israeli colonizers under military protection.
Local journalists in Jenin noted that these operations have become part of daily occurrences, with towns and refugee camps facing repeated invasions, home demolitions, and infrastructure damage.
